We had another successful year of Pi a Professor! Students got to come and take a little revenge by donating a little cash to charity and shoving a pie in a professors face…all to honor Tau Beta Pi week. Looks like a few students were having a little too much fun 😉
Dr. Cleary was a part of a NSF Structural Engineering Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) team that traveled to Panama City/Mexico Beach, Florida from October 13th – 15th, just after landfall of Hurricane Michael. The team was assessing damage from the storm with the hopes of assessing performance of building codes to improve them in the future.
Dr. Cleary attended the SEI Local Activities Division’s Local Leadership Conference (ASCE-SEI-LAD-LLC for those who love the alphabet) October 5-6 in Washington, DC. We meet with leaders of local Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) leaders from across the country, received leadership training from ASCE staff, and toured the Capital Building with former Representative Richard Swett.
